After a successful clean-out of the guest room, Kelly and I felt super motivated to tackle the garage! Kelly had an excellent mindset of throwing away anything she no longer used, and ordered a dumpster to be delivered to her home the morning before we started.

The end goal was to fit both of their cars into the garage, so we got started pulling everything out. Because we had a lot more space to work with, and the dumpster was right there in the driveway, we sorting things as we pulled them out. Large tools got immediately put into the keep pile because Kelly's husband had to go through them later, but we were able to throw away quite a bit!

After an hour or so we had already gotten a lot of big stuff out of there! Going through all the shelves took a big longer, just due to the amount of things that had to be gone through individually. I was still able to help pull out tools/other things that belonged to her husband and organize the kept things on the lawn.

The emptied garage! Once everything was pulled out we saw how much storage space there was, even just along the walls. We used a leaf blower to clean off all the shelving units, then swept out as much dirt as possible. Then it was time to put everything back in (my favorite part!).

The final product! So much space for cars!! I consolidated all of the tools into a few bins, but Kelly's husband still has to go through and declutter his things (tools and golf clubs). They also have a shed in the backyard that will soon be cleaned out and become the new home for all those big tools on the right wall (lawn mower, weed whacker, etc). Kelly and I were both so happy with the end result!
This has changed my life. A realtor wanted to come to my house and give me an evaluation of what she thought our home was worth. I was not embarrassed to death to have her come see our home. And i found out our home is worth more than i thought. It was a blessing to be rid of the clutter and our home shows great.
