The guest room had become a throw away space, anything that wasn't needed immediately was thrown into the room and this was the result after a few months.

We started by pulling out everything into the living room. Because the room was small and so full of stuff, we waited to sort trash/donate/keep until it was all laid out and easier to see.

We then went through each item, and Kelly decided if it was something she needed to keep, or loved too much to get rid of, or if it was trash/a donate-able item.

The piles dwindled as we sorted, these pictures are from about half way through the process.

At the end, she kept only two bins of linens, and one bin of sentimental photos/objects! She is planning on re-carpeting the room, so those three bins were stored elsewhere in the house and the room remained empty.

Seeing the piles of trash and donation was so satisfying for us both!

The final, emptied, room! We did put all her board games on the shelf in the closet, since that won't effect the carpeting. The bins she kept will get put back in that closet as well.

Love the videos with the music. So fun. Honest to goodness this has been so freeing. I feel so much lighter.

I even spend less when shopping. Instead of, "oh this is so cute i want it" i now think twice and realize my home is fine as is and i dont need more clutter and to be throwing this item away or donating in three years when i am tired of it.
